In 1960, C. Raymond Hunt forever changed the powerboat world with the introduction of the deep-V hull, proven and accepted as the ultimate hull form for speed with comfort and safety in rough water. Ray designed the first Bertram 31, the first Boston Whaler 13, and a host of other landmark designs. It is a measure of Ray's genius that today, after decades of attempts by others to conceive a better hull, his original deadrise angle remains proven as the optimum.
